The Basics of Sunlight and Vitamin D

The benefits of sunlight undoubtedly go far beyond mere Vitamin D. That being said, Vitamin D is undoubtedly a big benefit of being in the sun – when you’re actually getting it.

Here’s the scoop on getting Vitamin D from sunlight: when the sun is optimal, it only takes about 15 minutes of direct sunlight to max out your daily Vitamin D. Additionally, if the sun isn’t striking you at more than 40 degrees (i.e. it’s winter/early spring) you’re likely not getting any Vitamin D at all (to get a sense of what this looks like, at what time of year, click here to visit Dr. Mercola’s page on this, and scroll down to the following chart).

Even with this chart, however, (at least at the fringes of spring/winter) you’ll only be getting Vitamin D at “solar noon” – the easiest way to find this is to google “solar noon [your location].” That’ll tell you what time of day you’ll need to be outside to be generating Vitamin D.

obviously like your web-site but you need to test the spelling on quite a few of your posts. Several of them are rife with spelling problems and I to find it very troublesome to inform the reality on the other hand I’ll certainly come back again.
